This covers the waitlist on prefireapp.com, the Prefire browser extension, and the error reports the Prefire app sends. Signing in with FACEIT, which the closed beta uses, will be added here before the beta opens to everyone.

What we keep

When you join the list we store three things: your email address, the time you joined, and which button on the page you used to get to the form. Nothing else — no name, no IP address, no browser details, no location.

Why

To send you one email when the Prefire beta opens to everyone. We do not use your address for anything else, do not add it to other lists, and never sell or share it. We keep it because you asked us to: the legal basis is your consent (LGPD, art. 7, I; for visitors in the EU, GDPR art. 6(1)(a)).

Where it is kept, and who else is involved

• The list is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. Cloudflare hosts this site and may process data outside Brazil.
• To stop automated signups, the form counts requests per network for one minute using a one-way hash of your IP address. The count is deleted once the minute is over and is never stored next to your email.
• As our host, Cloudflare handles connection data such as your IP address to deliver the page and protect it from abuse. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits; it sets no cookies and does not follow you across other sites.
• The fonts are served from prefireapp.com itself, so loading a page here contacts no one but us and Cloudflare.
• This site sets no cookies.

How long

Until you ask us to remove it, or until the list is no longer needed after the public beta opens, whichever comes first.

The Prefire browser extension

The extension exists to hand FACEIT demo downloads to the Prefire app on your own computer. It sends nothing to Prefire's servers, or anywhere else on the internet.

• Downloads. When a download of a Counter-Strike demo file starts, the extension reads that download's address, its file name, and the address of the page it came from. It ignores every other download.
• Match rooms you open. On www.faceit.com it watches the address of the page you are on. When it is a match room - the page FACEIT takes you to when a match is found - it tells the Prefire app on the same computer that room's match id, once, so the app can look the match up and suggest which opponent to study. Nothing else about the page goes with it. The app then looks the match up through Prefire's servers, signed in as you, the same way it does when you paste a match room link into it yourself. The switch for this is in the extension's popup, and it is on unless you turn it off.
• Rooms the app opened. The extension also recognises a match room the Prefire app opened to fetch a demo. In that tab only, it looks at the labels of the page's buttons to find the one that downloads the demo, highlights it, and shows what happens to the download. It keeps nothing from the page and sends none of it anywhere, and it does not read your FACEIT account, your messages or your cookies.
• Where it goes. The demo's download address and file name are sent to the Prefire app on the same computer, at 127.0.0.1, and nowhere else. The address is a temporary link from FACEIT that stops working after about five minutes. If the app takes the download, the extension cancels the browser's own copy and closes the match room tab it came from; if the app cannot be reached, the browser downloads the demo as it normally would, and the match room offers to send the same link to the app again once it is open. The app then downloads the demo from FACEIT and keeps it on your computer.
• What it keeps, in your browser only. The names of the last 20 demos it handled, with the time and what happened to each (including why the app could not be reached, if it could not), shown in its toolbar popup; the port it talks to the app on; whether match room suggestions are on; and, until you close the browser, which open tabs are match rooms the app opened, the last download link each of them produced, and the ids of the match rooms it has already told the app about. Removing the extension deletes all of it.
• No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no account of its own.

The use of information received by the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Error reports from the Prefire app

So a crash or a handled error can be found and fixed, the Prefire desktop app can send a report when something goes wrong. It is on by default and you can turn it off at any time.

• What is sent. The kind of crash or error and a short message about it, with personal paths removed (your Windows user folder is replaced with %USERPROFILE% before anything leaves your computer); a stack trace as a list of module names and offsets, not source or file paths; the app version; a description of your hardware and operating system (Windows version, processor, memory, graphics card, screen resolution, language and code page); and a random install id that is generated on your computer and is not tied to your identity. When you are signed in, your Prefire account id is attached as well, so a report can be matched to your account. Nothing from inside your demos is sent, and your FACEIT login, session token and download links never are.
• Where it goes. The report is sent to Prefire's own servers, which pass it on to Grafana Labs (Grafana Cloud), the monitoring service Prefire uses to watch for problems and which processes the report on Prefire's behalf. The app never talks to Grafana Cloud directly and never holds its credentials.
• How long it is kept. Up to 30 days.
• How to turn it off. Untick Send crash and error reports to Prefire at the bottom of the app's sidebar; the choice is remembered. You can also start the app with the environment variable PREFIRE_NO_ERROR_REPORTS=1 to turn it off for that run. With reporting off, nothing is sent; a crash still leaves a diagnostic file on your own computer, which is never uploaded.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw your consent at any time. Email contact@prefireapp.com from the address you signed up with and we will answer within 15 days. You can also complain to Brazil's data protection authority, the ANPD, or to the data protection authority where you live.
